It bears witness to a vision that sets out to transform wine into a legacy.<\/strong><\/p><p>Driven by a desire to honour Maruggio\u2019s millennia-old heritage, <strong>Rinaldo del Bono<\/strong> launched an ambitious project in 2020 to preserve, enhance and interpret the area\u2019s biodiversity, based on a simple yet powerful conviction: <strong>wine is born of the earth, but takes shape through human sensitivity<\/strong>. This renewed, insightful wine culture, rooted in profound dialogue with nature, does not merely celebrate the past but also looks towards the future. With full respect for the passage of time and the richness of the village\u2019s soils, the <strong>Riserva MarrubiuM<\/strong> was born: a <strong>Primitivo di Manduria DOC<\/strong> entrusted to the expertise of <strong>Mattia Vezzola<\/strong>, a leading oenologist on the Italian scene. His approach is rooted in knowledge and attentiveness, giving rise to a story with a strong sense of place that unfolds over time.<\/p><p><strong>\u201cThe true value of wine lies not only in its immediate quality but also in its ability to stand the test of time, to evolve and reveal itself. Here the <strong>centuries-old bush<\/strong> vines form the heart of the project. Rooted in calcareous-clay soils, they preserve the legacy left by the ancient Greeks and also represent the future. Alongside these head-trained vines, a number of trellis-trained vines complete the vineyard, yet it is the centuries-old bush vines that define the wine\u2019s identity. Of the estate\u2019s total 25 hectares, <strong>7 hectares<\/strong> have been selected for their quality and suitability, under the careful guidance of <strong>oenologist Mattia Vezzola<\/strong>, <strong>agronomist Pierluigi Donna<\/strong> and <strong>world-renowned nurseryman Pierre-Marie Guillaume<\/strong>, a pioneer in genetic research and selection. Together, they are furthering a mass selection project that draws on the heritage of historic vines dating back more than a hundred years, from which buds are taken for new grafts, thus preserving their original genetic identity. This wine manifests a deep sense of connection between human beings and nature, between intuition and attentive care. An intense, elegant and well-structured red, it has been aged in white oak barriques and matured for a long time in the silence of the cellars, through a slow-ageing process that reflects Rinaldo del Bono\u2019s <strong>promise of longevity<\/strong>.<\/p><p>The central importance of the soil guides every agronomic and viticultural decision. For Le Fabriche, step one is not the product but the dialogue between the land, the roots and the plant. The ongoing quest for harmonious balance evolves within the ecosystem.<\/p><p>MarrubiuM is the Latin name for a <strong>medicinal plant<\/strong> from which Maruggio \u2013 the village where the estate is located \u2013 also takes its name. The wine is a true expression of the richness and harmony of its home terrain: the calcareous-clay soils, the constant breeze and the proximity to the sea all contribute to the <strong>organoleptic complexity<\/strong> of this wine.<\/p><p>Inspired by a vision of mindfulness and regeneration, we preserve the balance of the land, respecting its natural rhythms and fostering biodiversity alongside excellence in viticulture. The approach to the vineyards is highly <strong>eco-friendly;<\/strong> it protects biodiversity and utilizes advanced environmental monitoring techniques.<\/p><p>The vineyard is managed organically and with minimal intervention: we use copper, sulphur, kaolin, natural organic matter, and irrigation only when absolutely necessary.<\/p><p>No harsh chemicals, no soil depletion.
